Toll project managed and administered the successful delivery of the design and construction of the Ichthys Logistics Supply Base in Darwin, Northern Territory.

The project itself was the construction of a 7,000 sqm warehouse with and 100 sqm cool room and 120 sqm of internal warehouse offices. The main office was situated externally at the front of the building and was 404 sqm offices, meeting rooms, staff canteen and toilets. There was also a 1000 sqm Dangerous Goods building and 23,000 sqm of hard stand.

The project was delivered on a design and construct delivery model, ahead of programme and under budget. The design of the project was coordinated out of Perth WA with the contractor and consultants situated in Adelaide SA.

The project was unique in that and the end user was Toll Energy with Toll Energy’s client being Inpex who was also a tenant and had an influence in the design. Therefore, multiple stakeholder engagement was required. Practical Completion of the facility was achieved on 24 December 2014.

The project was able to be completed prior to the targeted practical completion date by introducing multiple forward works packages and building permit applications which ensured work continued prior to the completion of the finaldesign.
