The project was unique in that the facility was constructed on reclaimed land with poor ground conditions. Extensive ground engineering exceeding what a typical equivalent facility would require. Toll’s early consultation with civil and geotechnical engineers ensured the tender was properly informed and pricing guaranteed mitigating unforeseen costs from arising.
Toll embarked on a collaborative approach with the Port Authority and end users to ensure the design brief and concept designs captured the requirements of all the stakeholders involved. The final delivered solution has resulted in a higly functional facility which provides flexible service offerings to a wide variety of end users and customers.
Toll independently undertook the tendering and procurement process entering directly into a design and construct contract with a builder. The project was completed on programme and under budget in June 2015.
